the team
Lindsey Steffen, Project Development Manager
A recent graduate with an MA from the University of Leeds, she is passionate about bringing the Arts to young people. She is building partnerships for Drama Workhouse and developing community projects.
Kaye James, Managing Director, Founder and Facilitator
A professional actress and facilitator, she saw the need for a creative outlet in her community - so in 1998 Drama Workhouse was born. She takes an “education by stealth” approach, believing that people learn best when they don’t feel they’re being “taught at”, so relax and have fun.
Madelaine Smith, Facilitator
An experienced facilitator and MA Applied Theatre graduate. She is particularly interested in working with young offenders, using drama to help them through resettlement issues. Also a Queens Park resident.
Dominique Gerrard, Facilitator
A professional actress and facilitator, experienced in devising original performance pieces with young people. She enables everyone to achieve their full potential and her teaching style is warm and open.
“This kind of creativity cannot be weighed in conventional terms - beyond the artistic it gives people a chance to explore themselves and gain confidence to approach all aspects of life. All people, especially the young, need to be exposed to this, which is why Drama Workhouse has a special place in my heart.”
