A professional actress and facilitator, Kaye saw the need for a creative outlet in her community and so in 1998 Drama Workhouse was born. Having trained and worked as an actress, Kaye wanted to pass on the love of ‘playing’ to others and she knew that by taking part in drama, people’s lives could literally change. Not through fame, fortune and celebrity but by reaching the excluded, building confidence and creating trust.
For the past 16 years, Drama Workhouse has worked in partnership with local organisations and agencies, including schools, Brent Connexions, Westminster Drug and Alcohol Project, Brent Mind, local Youth Offenders Teams and local Job Centres. It is through these partnerships that we have been able to reach out to vulnerable and hard-to-reach groups and facilitate the learning of skills to change lives.
